Keep It Simple
Screen Print XX x XX
This piece was created for my Advanced Printmaking class. I played with typography and far away and up close interpretations of the piece
to try and alter the viewer's interpretation of the piece. The message reads "Keep It Simple" but the graphic stylings are anything but simple.
From far away you easily read the message and can barely distinguish the subtle complexities and only see it as standard Helvetica. Up close you
notice that the letterforms are composed of complex forms. The ending punctuation is the only thing in the graphic that stays true to its writen sentiment.
As a redux of the graphic I printed clear medium on glossy paper. This distorts the message even more. You need to jump through hoops to get
an amazingly simple message and I found that very interesting to experiment with.
